PGCE
The Early Years Teacher Training (EYTT) course is a specialist programme for those who want to become qualified Early Years Teachers, working with children from birth to five years old. It focuses on child development, early education theory and practice, safeguarding, leadership, and working with families and professionals. The course includes both academic study and practical placements in early years settings. Trainees develop the skills to lead learning, support school readiness, and ensure high-quality early education. Upon successful completion, graduates are awarded Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), a professional status recognised across the early years sector.
The Primary PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) is a one-year, postgraduate course that prepares graduates to become qualified primary school teachers for children aged 5 to 11. It combines academic study with school-based placements, allowing trainees to apply their learning in real classroom settings. The course covers key areas such as the national curriculum, child development, lesson planning, behaviour management, and inclusive teaching. Trainees develop the skills and confidence needed to support pupils’ learning across core subjects. On successful completion, they are awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) alongside a PGCE qualification.
